Task Nine- Review

Describe your experience using the class wiki on your blog

Once set up, being invited and accepting access was simple. The biggest problem encountered was navigating around the page and working out where common tools were located (new page, links and format tools). It is not the same as using a word document so you need to be mindful of the options and appearance.

What differences did you experience between your blog and the class wiki?
Wiki allowed some interesting insights to class mates, while the blog work was a very solo task.

Which type of social media do think would be the best for a public library to keep its members up to date?
Facebook would be preferred if I had to choose. As a regular user and knowing the scope of people that use it make it non threatening option. There are still privacy, copyright and social consensus issues to be considered.

How could a library make use of a blog?
Blogs can narrow a broader topic down (childrens books- nursery rhymes), contain smaller audiences (teenagers) and provide up to date information on events. Dedicated staff are required to keep the blogs fresh and current.
